Devine Devan’s are restored to The Plaza foyer
When The Plaza opened her doors on October 7th 1932 there were many features and furnishings during her early years that graced the foyers, Cafe Restaurant and auditorium which over the following 80 years dissapeared only to now be gradually returning to the rightful place in our award winning Super Cinema and Variety Theatre.
Our Stalls and Circle foyer have lacked till today the finishing touch of two divans that are the final furnishings to enhance the sumptuous paint work and beautifully restored sales kiosk and recreate the devine glamour of the 1930s.
We previously had two divans of a pale pink hue that it was felt needed replacing with two beautifully manufactured gold coloured double seaters therefore Gary Trinder our Vice Chairman and Technical Director, who has expertly guided The Plaza through her restoration with an attention to detail that has meant we are now almost in ‘opening day’ condition, liaised closely with the suppliers of our new foyer furnishing to get them exactly correct.
With a final check from Gary the divans were set in position so that our very own ‘Pin Up Pete’ could model these wonderful seats that are now here to welcome you next time visit us at The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre.
