Mighty Compton Organ tuning is Music to our Ears…

Our dedicated Organ Team here at The Plaza undertake a myriad of roles to keep our beautiful Mighty Compton Organ here at The Plaza in the very best working condition as one of the nations most played instruments undertaking the role that it was created for in entertaining our fabulous and appreciative audiences.

On Saturday 19th July we shall be hosting one of our regular Fundraising Organ Coffee Mornings featuring a very special appearance by The Worlds Oldest Working Theatre Organist Mr Dave Nicholas therefore in advance of the event one of the regular ‘tunes’ of the organ has been undertaken.

We have already commenced some extensive restoration and repair of The Mighty Compton Organ and throughout the summer do keep an eye out for more fascinating insights in the works that will be undertaken by our expert team and featured here on The Plaza ‘Restoration Updates’ page.

For now these wonderful images provide a fascinating insite into the ‘behind the scenes’ workings of The Plaza 1932 Organ that has become one of the many much loved assets of our beautiful Art Deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre.
